Description
The University Honors Program (UHP) provides curious and hardworking students from any major on campus an opportunity for further distinction. UHP scholars get an opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary academic learning experiences that complement their major, engage in professional networking and get opportunities to earn scholarships and distinction in their academic journey. Due to sustained student interest and committed and dedicated faculty mentors, the UHP has grown at a rapid pace with over 65 enrolled students representing all Colleges at CSU East Bay.
Faculty (including lecturers) across all college are dedicated in supervising students in their honors' research and creative projects. Our advisory board has been instrumental in guiding program growth and development and to support our students in reaching their academic goals.
We look forward to continued growth and robust curricular offerings-our Pioneers deserve no less!
Donations are applied to...
Our honors scholars are the changemakers of tomorrow — driven, curious, and dedicated to making a difference in their communities and the world.
Here are some ways in which your contribution will support our scholars and program:
$50-$100: Your support will assist scholars in purchasing materials and supplies for research and creative projects.
$100-$500: Help scholars present their research and/or network with professionals at national and international conferences. These funds can also be used to pay for guest lectures on leadership development and career development.
$500-$1000: Provide scholars with a living stipend so they can focus on their research and creative endeavors. Many of our scholars work multiple jobs to earn a living wage.
With your support, we can continue to nurture brilliance, fuel discovery, and empower scholars to leave a lasting impact in our communities.
Personal Message
Recently, we celebrated one of our honors program graduates as Cal State East Bay’s first Marshall Scholar-Karrington Hendrix who says,
“"Through my participation in the Honors Program at California State University, East Bay, I have received extensive career development opportunities that have significantly contributed to both my personal and professional growth. And not only was I able to participate in my first research symposium but I was also able to pursue local internships, which helped refine my goals and prepared me to pursue successful career paths with confidence.”
Why are donations necessary?
The University Honors Program (UHP) has grown exponentially over the past few years. A thriving honors program enriches the experience of current scholars and cements Cal State East Bay’s reputation as a campus that supports its students in reaching their full potential and graduating with meaningful distinctions. We do not have additional funds to support the meaningful curricular offerings of the Honors Program-and rely solely on donor funds. Every gift- no matter the size will have a lasting impact and make a profound difference in the lives of our students.
