Description

The Renaissance Scholars Program at Cal State East Bay was developed in 2006 to support emancipated foster youth in pursuit of a college degree. With over 18 years of service, our program has served over 200 CSUEB alumni who have gone on to be successful entrepreneurs, working professionals, and pillars in their communities. Our program continues to provide holistic support services that enhance the student experience for our Renaissance Scholars and prepare them to thrive while in school and life beyond college.

Making a lifelong impact

Emergency support funding for students facing personal/financial hardship

Renaissance Scholars Program sponsored events to improve students sense of belonging, professional development, and post-grad readiness

      Why are Donations Needed?

According to Foster Care to Success, less than 10% of foster youth earn a college degree; meanwhile, the Human Rights Watch estimates that approximately 20% of foster youth transitioning from care in California will find themselves homeless. The Renaissance Scholars Program aims to create new, more positive statistics. We firmly believe that all of our students can graduate from college and that communal support plays a crucial role in helping them stay on track. Your gift makes our work possible!
